4th Section 2006 Dakar Rally, Mark Miller Dirk von Zitzewitz And the result from our telephone conversation: Is today went well. In the beginning it was even very good, except CP were a Mark Miller and Dirk von Zitzewitz on the second Place. Ca. at km 150 hinterhergefahren they are in the dust of the Mitsubishi, but unfortunately that was the wrong way. Thus they have lost 4-5 minutes. Good speed run. Does everything now have nothing at all. The 2006 Dakar Rally really is yet to come. Mark and Dirk are absolutely in good spirits and satisfied.

Dirk knows anything about Robby. He has only seen that he was standing at the edge and probably has somewhere screwed on the right rear wheel.

Dirk von Zitzewitz and Kris Nissen Update: Statement of Mark Miller via Volkswagen Motorsport:
# 309 - Mark Miller (USA), 10 Place leg / 8 Place overall
"It is fantastic to drive in Africa again in the first dunes. We made the mistake of following Nani Roma through a dune passage, which we hoped a benefit. But then he got lost, which we also lost time. "

Audio update from Mark Miller after the fourth Stage of the 2006 Dakar Rally.

Update: Today is the first bivouac of the 2006 Dakar Rally. The majority of the team members spent the night in a one-man tents and enjoyed a cold first night in Africa: The temperature fell to a frosty minus three degrees. We have in October in Morocco , fortunately not yet to experience. There was on the Enduro-Tour in Libya cold, right? Reads with someone who was in Libya?

Yes, it was sometimes rather cold in Libya, Eisüberzug morning on the bench. But in a tent with a good sleeping bag, it was ok
Last year in Nov / Dec but it was comparable in Morocco: there too a few degrees below zero at night.
But I think that the current on the Dakar probably would be only one of the smallest problems.
    Have fun
    Jens
