Even near the end can still mistakes happen. Especially when it is not about fighting but about the cars to bring calm to the finish. The risk is there to lose concentration, perhaps as early "to think too far." Dirk did not announce today a lot. Dirk has amazed how focused and calm Giniel is gone. Dirk hopes that it works so well tomorrow. Only then the goal is reached.

The "Dakar" debut in South America ends where it began: in the legendary Pampa. After two weeks of varied terrain, participants will find at the last, 792-kilometer-long stretch before the rally in front of goal again familiar terrain. Once again, long and fast straight sections are on the agenda - similar to those at the start of the rally.

Incidentally, this year the "Henri Magne Prize awarded to the outstanding co-drivers (Henri Magne was the Co of Nani Roma and was killed in the Morocco Rally 2006 - he has his stage win yesterday Nani also dedicated).

However, the award went to Dirk not (even if he certainly deserves it), but eye to Eric Medina, the passenger of the querschittsgelähmten Isidre Esteve Pujol - a good choice, I think.

For the two have had, especially in the first week of a real Altered: Electrical problems, from a truck rammed u stuck permanently in the dunes (the trucks have so drawn deep furrows that the late launched cars are stuck in it), they are often only late in the morning early came to the bivouac. But they have not left loose and Eric has always bravely dug up the car alone again, or afloat.

One of many Dakar stories that happen away from the main action :-) - Wanted to get rid of this time as it will see no mention of media reports well - hope it does not bother anyone.

Again, congratulations to "our" South African-North German Dream Team! Celebrate properly, you have it you deserve!

Jutta, you are right, also must be mentioned. I think anyone who dares ever anzutretten in the Dakar, is already a hero. come to Ans goal is already a small miracle in such efforts, and each participant has certain experiences behind him, on the "normal" people can not even dream of. Since borders are moved, the project beyond the human.
But the closely matches among these supermen but Giniel and Dirk, that must be mentioned again today!
A PROST everyone, I hope tonight you have the VW team does not ban alcohol ...
    Proud Greetings from Slovenia!
