Die VW-Presseabteilung kann auch nur sagen, dass der Servicetruck wohl wegen der langen Etappe erst spät ankommen werde. Sollte die Reparatur nicht glücken, könne auch abgeschleppt werden, ohne dass das automatisch die Disqualifikation bedeute. VW tue natürlich alles, damit das Team 317 weiterfahren kann.
Das wichtigste: Dirk und Robby sind nicht verletzt.
Vielleicht kann mal jemand mit im Reglement nachlesen, wie lange die ganze Aktion dauern darf.
Nachtrag: Wenn ich das hier richtig verstehe, gibt es bei der Dakar keine Disqualifikation wegen Zeitüberschreitung (wohl aber eine harte Strafe), sofern man zur nächsten Prüfung (30 Minuten vor dem Start) wieder da ist.
19P5 – Fixed penalty
These penalties have been created to be given out to competitors in situations where in traditional rallies they would have been excluded from the race. They allow penalised crews to continue the rally under normal conditions while nevertheless being heavily sanctioned.To apply the fixed penalty the time of the Selective Section under consideration attributed to the crew will be calculated by adding together the maximum time allowed for the Selective Section to any eventual penalties for missing CPs and the fixed penalty for the day.
Only one fixed penalty can be given per Leg.
A table of fixed penalties will be given to competitors at administrative checks.
